Revisiting an older theme again this week with weather but a totally different collection of songs. Weather as metaphor and even songs about fog and snow! Amy was really sleep deprived and tangented more than normal. Mitchell points out how they are both indoor kids and it is likely why they like the rain so much.
This week’s show theme is brought to us by Intern Emeritus, Joe-Joe. Amy and Jason tackle tunes with proper names with contributions from the ever-amazing Earbuddies. Jason makes a few punny jokes and Amy gets emotional over an email.
This week, Jason and Amy explore the world of boozy brunches, which was suggested by Earbuddy, Bet in Buffalo. Amy questions how Jason got pink eye and Jason refuses to give her answers! This show gets as salty as Amy’s favorite brunch drink.
Jason and Amy are back at it again with the podcast! Jason gets Amy back for trolling him and they get into “spoken word” in music. There is a total geek out on British baking and it doesn’t get ugly, no matter how many of the sponge cakes have soggy bottoms. Plenty of Earbuddies’ suggestions bring back nostalgia and glee. Amy is working towards making a special flute segment just for that one special cohost of hers.
Jason and Amy tackle the controversial subject of sex workers in music. Earmuffs for the kids!! There is plenty of talk about rights, legislations and depictions in the musical format. A whole range of emotions is covered but everyone can come together on Memphis’ favorite cheese product as well as Memphis’ favorite Academy Award winning rap group(explicit lyrics litter the place). Amy also gets it wrong. She chose the song “A Cautionary Song” and not “A Cautionary Tale.”
