This week, realizing that everyone is honing in their winter holiday playlists already, Mitchell and Amy examine songs that are not the most traditional of holiday songs. Let’s call them “nontraditional.” Parodies, earnest songs, old Ford commercials, soul classics, and emo all come up. Don’t stop revising your playlist until you have added all of these.
This week, Mitchell and Amy take time to honor the Earbuddy musicians and prove the oft repeated “They just don’t make any good music anymore” wrong, because dang it, they are wrong. Prepare to have your mind grapes exploded with the talent of our Earbuddies and follow the links below to their Bandcamps and Youtubes and buy their music!
Jeremiah Matthews of The Ellie Badge joins Amy this week to discover all the independent music they could find in a week. The Earbuddies bring so many fantastic songs and they don’t know if that one song is a Christian rock anthem or not, but it is fantastic. Enjoy the indie love because there is plenty go around.
School bells are ringing and all the kids are trudging back to class with their newly sharpened Ticonderoga pencils. Instead of that silly dirge music, Jason and Amy take Timothy’s theme suggestion and play songs about the long hot free days of summer coming to an end. Plenty of feedback from the Earbuddies and a special announcement from international intern, Joe-Joe.
